It appears to me that once again, we can thank the democrats for fewer dollars in our wallets. I just wanted to take a moment to expound on what Brother Dan posted. Like it or not, the lifeblood of the world is oil. Now we are stuck with this reality, no amount of carping, political grandstanding or sniveling will change that. No potential technology will effect any change in that fact in the near term, say five to ten years. Now we are faced with $3.50 per gallon of gas and $110 per barrel of oil. The great unwashed mass of lib’ruls would have you believe that we went to war for oil. If that were the case, then why in God’s name aren’t we seeing $1.00 a gallon gas again? Simply because as with most lib’rul slogans, they are coined for bumper stickers, not any amount of considered thought and logical analysis.

Oil is so damn costly because demand is up and supply is relatively static. Oil production has not increased at a rate sufficient to meet the demands of exploding economies in India and China as well as other emerging markets. If oil is in demand, one thing that is in even more demand is gasoline. Of course, in order to relieve the demand for gas, you would need to produce more of it, thereby increasing supply. This can only be accomplished through the construction of additional refining capacity since American refining capacity typically run in excess of 95% capacity, a rate guaranteed to run down equipment, especially equipment that is outdated. Since we haven’t constructed a new refinery in this country in over 25 years, it can be safely assumed that we have a generous supply of outdated petrochemical equipment. This is all economic theory that any fourth grader who has ever operated a lemonade stand can comprehend. Which means it is beyond the reasoning ability of your average lib.

Let’s review shall we? Democrats and their leftwing eco-nazi buddies refuse to allow us to drill for new oil in the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge. This despite the overwhelming desire of the residents of Alaska that ANWR be opened to exploration and development of new oil fields. Democrats and their leftwing eco-nazi buddies refused to allow further drilling and exploration off the California and Florida coasts. This despite the recent revelations that the Communist Chinese are now slant drilling for oil in the Florida Straits, with the assistance of the Cubans. Democrats and their leftwing eco-nazi buddies are responsible for the incredibly restrictive laws and codes that have prevented the construction of even a single new refinery in over a quarter century, thereby ensuring that ultimately, demand for refined petroleum products would outstrip production capacity. This single act alone has made us beholden to foreign influences in the energy business. Finally, democrats and their leftwing eco-nazi buddies have stymied the development of nuclear energy in the United States, the development of which would make a significant impact on the amount of fuel consumed by Americans.

Demonstrating an utter inability to grasp economic principles, lib’ruls want us to embrace corn production for use in the making of ethanol. Forget that current production vehicles would require significant modification to run on ethanol, lets ask a more poignant question. If ethanol was truly a wonder fuel, capable of serving our needs and freeing us from the oppressive prices of the Saudi oil-puppeteers and Venezuelan tinpots, then why is it being subsidized by Congress? Simply because it’s another feel-good strawman. Ethanol made by corn is far less efficient that gasoline and requires more gas to produce than it replaces. Subsidies are required because if it were a profitable enterprise, private corporations would be growing corn on individual square feet of dirt in Manhattan. The simple truth is that we need oil for the foreseeable future, and the left in general and democrats specifically, have demonstrated throughout their history that they have no interest in a free market or in truly addressing the energy crisis.

Americans gave the reins of power to democrats in 2006. In two years have we seen any comprehensive energy plan from the party of sedition since they were seated? The answer is no. They have come forth with countless resolutions against the war in Iraq, but like their statements on energy developments, they are long on sloganeering and short on acknowledgement of reality. You can always count on the left to do what is most detrimental to the average American’s interests. In this case, it appears that their comprehensive energy plan, developed over the course of 40 plus years has done nothing but hinder development of alternative sources of fuel while completely halting any increase in American production of oil and gas. If you really want to continue paying more for gas, then by all means vote democrat this November. If you prefer to let the market and American entrepreneurs get us out of this mess, then throw the rascals out and let someone who has run a lemonade stand develop energy policy.

Now that all of you are acquainted with the term "legitimate American", Brother Paul and I can focus on what legitimate Americans must do to marginalize the influence of a pop culture -- media driven and politically bent -- that has taken all the fun out of things. Let me explain, but be forewarned: if you are a liberal Democrat that believes 9/11 was an inside job, the military campaign against global terror is about oil, or Vice President Cheney actually runs the country, you're going to find no relief from the pain and suffering you and your ilk inflict on yourselves here, but do read on.

Here's a fact many of you liberal twits can't avoid (try as you must): petroleum based products are the foundation of this nation's economy. From one barrel of oil, hundreds of useful components can be developed. Every type of motor fuel, plastics, chemicals, you name it, everything this country -- including liberal twits -- needs to sustain it's vibrancy and economic well being. Early in the discovery phases of petroleum acquisition and refinement, the process was messy and dangerous. (Note to ignorant morons everywhere: it may be necessary to qualify the rest of my comments by stating I grew up the shadows of the nation's largest petro-chemical complex -- Pasadena, Texas.) As technology improved acquisition and refinement processes, petroleum based products began to make every American's life simpler and less expensive. Legitimate Americans examine the 20th Century's extraordinary technological advances and recognize how this century will yield even greater accomplishments -- none of which require abandoning petroleum as a source of energy.

Only a liberal idiot would suggest I am advocating a future that is anchored exclusively by petroleum based energy sources. Legitimate Americans understand just exactly the point: we can continue to utilize petroleum as a key energy source, efficiently and economically, for as far as we care to speculate humanity will exist on the Earth. Americans need efficient and economic energy sources. Americans have developed a variety of sources, including nuclear power, to heat homes, energize cities, and basically propel this nation to greatness. What gives each of us the freedom and liberty to excel at this thing we call Americana is petroleum based motor fuels.

Seeing how those opposed to this train of thought aren't very global in their grasp of issues, or, for that matter, possessed of enough walking around sense to get out of the rain, we find ourselves locked in discussions that distract from the simple reality found in keeping a viable petroleum based energy plan. We've allowed liberals (left wing kooks and communist extensions) to somehow foster the notion acquiring and refining petroleum is a bad thing. Those intellectual featherweights will produce photos of a steel mill belching smoke, or the famed Spindletops and their geysers of crude oil flowing from underground. High drama, if you're offended by the mess those things made.

I will not revisit the benefits those newly developed, yet messy, industries provided the nation -- the world -- and its people, but I will demand the same cretin that uses that sort of visual propaganda to display today's drilling, refining, and production facilities in the United States. As mentioned, I grew up -- since the mid 20th Century -- with oil refineries, chemical plants, pipelines, and all that goes with it. We will not wander, distracted, down a path about the jobs or quality of life afforded millions of decent, hard working people (hint: it was very good for everyone that wanted a good life) when our focus is how we've allowed idiots to derail our future with lunatic assertions of global warming and environmental calamity. Americans must regain their energy independence. Unfortunately, one of the steps that must be taken include debunking and slam dunking liberal imbeciles that suggest petroleum will kill us all.

Because of the imbeciles that declared petroleum a fiendish plague on society, we've allowed political extensions to alter our focus regarding the efficiency and long term benefit of a key energy source. We've been led to believe letting other nations provide crude oil -- or even refined products -- would eliminate that plague from our shores, yet leave us free to pursue liberty and justice for all. When those nations became incredibly wealthy and began to exert influence that wealth had provided, the same idiots that devalued American based production began to declare foreign sources were creating a new and greater threat to the pursuit of liberty and justice for all. For once, those halfwits were damned near right. Even a moron can state the obvious, although not very well, especially in the many cases involving American liberals and their goofball following.

We are now confronted with a stark and troubling reality. America is a nation that must sustain vast supplies of petroleum to survive. Since we've allowed our ability to produce (that means drill for oil, ship it to refineries, and delivery those products domestically) to be hamstrung by obsolete and incompetent regulation, our national security and economic well-being hinges on how well we interact with foreign sources that are proving incredibly unreliable. When we use terms such as "national or strategic interests", nine times out of ten we are talking about foreign oil supplies. Today, we have to be very concerned about how we are going to protect those interests and who we will put in charge of the process.

Frankly, we're running out of options. Surrendering huge chunks of American commerce to tinpots and religious zealots may be a pipe dream for the legions of left wing dunderheads we find wandering in our midst, but, for legitimate Americans, that is not acceptable by any stretch of the imagination. We can provide a legislative and political arena that allows domestic petroleum discovery and production -- saving us billions, if not trillions long term -- while giving future generations of Americans jobs in fifty thousand related fields. Or, we can continue to play fast and loose with reality, finding ourselves forced into a corner where we must use our military to act in the "national interest". Neither of these solutions sit well with the left wing and their minions -- both options deny the liberal effort to enslave major portions of the American population in the pit of socialism and despair. One way or another, we must maintain high volumes of petroleum production. We can do it here and avoid international conflict -- that would include full scale military operations against crackpots like Hugo Chavez or some Islamic fundamentalist regime.

Sometimes I wonder if the liberal flacks -- in their own feckless manner -- desire to see the US military take over foreign oil fields, just so they can cry about imperialistic motives and US aggression. As we've pointed out one hundred times previously, it is not a stretch of the legitimate American's imagination to come to such a conclusion. That is why -- as you enter the voting booth this November -- you must put aside the carnival sideshow and political theatre, courtesy of the Democrats, and assume responsibility for the future of this nation. If you are falling for the "change" mantra trotted out by a pandering socialist or whatever the campaign slogan de' jour offered by the wife of the disgraced, disbarred, impeached serial rapist and molester from Arkansas, you deserve $4.00 a gallon gasoline.

Legitimate Americans don't deserve it, and will not stand for it. Either way, we will get our oil. I just pray it's not with the blood of our troops. But, unless we end the madness of liberal influence in our energy policy, it will take the US military to provide the vital lifeline of petroleum supply and production.

That, my fellow legitimate Americans, is undisputed fact.
