Well if ever there was a tempest in a teapot it is the testimony from newly minted author Richard Clarke about the preparadness of the Bush Administration for dealing with terrorism and the process of decision making in the wake of September 11, 2001 which ultimately led us to war in Iraq. Mr. Clarke comes across as a profiteer. His story and his highly trumpeted book not exactly meshing with the course of his career or his conduct in office. Clarke's pathetic attempt to assign blame to the Bush Administration is only partially absolved by his acknowledgement that for 8 long years the Administration of IMPEACHED ex-president Clinton did little too nothing about terrorism.

Clarke's tale of Condoleeza Rice not knowing who Al Qaeda was in the days preceeding the Sept. 11 attacks has already been debunked by videotape of her discussing both the problem of Al Qaeda and what to do about Bin Laden a full year before the attacks, when she was only an advisor to the Bush Campaign. In short, Mr. Clarke is a disgruntled ex-employee who didn't progress as he would have liked. Now he sees fit to publish a tell all book billed as an insider account when he whas access to neither all of the necessary information nor the inside in the Bush White House. Clarke is obviously self aggrandizing and possessed of a remarkably large ego. Which of course makes him the perfect useful idiot for the Party of Sedition to use against the President as this campaign heats up.
